According to the Australian Department of Defense, deployed in Europe since July, the E-7A Wedgetail AEW&C has flown 45 sorties in just over three months, highlighting its intensive operational tempo.

According to The Defense Post, about half of the missions were scheduled, covering routes used to transport weapons and international aid to Ukraine.
The other half was in response to immediate threats, such as the violation of Estonian airspace by a russian MiG-31 in September this year. In addition, Australian AEW&C aircraft also conducted patrols during russian terrorist missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the deployment of the Australian E-7A Wedgetail in Europe coincided with the first relatively massive attack by russian Gerbera-type decoy drones on Poland. It can be assumed that the aircraft also participated in the monitoring operation during this attack.
This was the first time that the Royal Australian Air Force's E-7A Wedgetail had been deployed to Poland. This marked the Australian E-7A Wedgetail's second deployment to Europe.
In July 2023, it was first reported that a reconnaissance aircraft from Australia would monitor arms deliveries to Ukraine. After a six-month deployment to Germany, it returned to Australia in early April 2024.
