Ukrainian Armor presented its first drone, the UB60D, last year and has since continued to refine the system while expanding its lineup with new variants

The company has demonstrated a terminal guidance system for its strike drones, according to the National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industries.

The UB60D unmanned aerial system equipped with an automatic terminal guidance module is currently in the final stage of codification. The company also showcased drones based on 82 mm mortar rounds, as well as UAVs fitted with explosively formed penetrator (EFP) warheads.

During demonstration trials, the drones engaged mock targets represented by metal plates with target markings. The strikes were carried out using both airburst and contact detonation modes.

The UB60D with the terminal guidance system was also demonstrated against a moving target, specifically a ground robotic platform.

"Solutions with integrated warheads drew particular attention from the military, which noted the speed of preparation for use and ease of operation," NAUDI reported.

Terminal guidance allows a drone to autonomously engage a target at a certain distance without operator input while maintaining a high level of resistance to enemy electronic warfare. Drones equipped with such technology have been in use for several years. Defense Express has previously explained how Ukrainian FPV drones with terminal guidance operate.

As for Ukrainian Armor's drone lineup, its first representative, the UB60D, which is part of the UAV system of the same name, was unveiled last year and completed codification in its basic version in the summer.

The drone was developed based on a 60 mm fragmentation mortar round. Its key advantage is that the warhead is already integrated into the drone. This provides operators with a ready-to-use solution "out of the box," eliminating the need for additional time, effort, or cost to configure it.

Serial production of the UB60D UAV system began just one month after codification, in August last year. As of early this year, the company reported a production capacity of up to 80 systems per month. Each system includes 250 drones, bringing total output to approximately 20,000 FPV drones per month.

In addition to the 60 mm version, the company is also testing variants based on 82 mm and 120 mm mortar rounds.

Earlier, Defense Express reported on how battle-proven Ukrainian weapons could become the foundation for a powerful reconnaissance-strike ecosystem in Europe.
