The UB60D FPV drone was first unveiled last year, when serial production of this weapon system was launched

Ukrainian Armor (a member of NAUDI) has disclosed the production rates of its UB60D FPV drone based on a 60 mm mortar round. As of today, the company is capable of producing 80 systems per month. Given that each system includes 250 UB60D units, this corresponds to a total output of up to 20,000 FPV drones per month, already equipped with warheads.

This information was shared by Ukrainian Armor CEO Vladyslav Belbas in a comment to the Oboronka project run by Ukrainska Pravda and Mezha. According to him, if required, provided there are sufficient orders, production rates could be increased two- to threefold, reaching 40,000 to 60,000 fully equipped UB60D FPV drones per month.

Belbas also disclosed the cost of one system. Depending on the configuration, it ranges from UAH 5.8 million to UAH 6.2 million. It should be emphasized that this figure refers to a complete system comprising 250 UB60D FPV drones. In rough terms, the cost of a single UB60D drone is about USD 500.

In addition, the company expects the codification of its new FPV drones with more powerful warheads by the end of January. Currently undergoing testing is a 10-inch FPV drone equipped with an 82 mm mortar round warhead, while another version based on a 120 mm mortar round is also under development.

The existence of the UB60D FPV drone first became public in July last year, when Ukrainian Armor announced its codification and approval for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its combat trials had taken place earlier, in January. Serial production of the UB60D system began approximately one month after codification, around August last year.

The UB60D represents a practical approach, as the drone is delivered with a factory-installed warhead. This allows the military to receive a fully equipped munition-ready FPV drone and eliminates the need to separately source and install a combat payload.

Moreover, it is now known that at least one Western country has expressed interest in the UB60D drones. Alongside the Protector unmanned ground vehicle, also produced by Ukrainian Armor, the UB60D FPV drones were showcased during Polish Territorial Defence Forces exercises, where Polish servicemen had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the systems in detail.
