The State Duma of the russian federation is promoting the idea of returning to the notorious "sharashkas" of Stalin's time - Special Design Bureau where scientists and designers worked under the control of the NKVD, convicted of "treason to the motherland" and other articles of the penal code. Of course, officially, it will not be called "sharashkas", but "design bureaus of the mobilization type".

This is exactly the idea promoted by representatives of the odious Liberal Democratic Party of russia (LDPR), who are often used by the Kremlin to "test" various ideas before their implementation in russian society. It should be noted that the leader of this party, Borys Chernyshov, who "legalized" the idea of creating the "design bureaus of the mobilization type" in the Russian Federation, is currently the Deputy Speaker of the russian Parliament.
"Together, scientists, the government, the military, we must bring back the good old Soviet traditions. Scientists will work to solve not only military, but also state problems," Chernyshov said.
Despite, at first glance, the obvious absurdity of such an idea, it should be noted that in the russian federation, such a wrongdoing as "failure to fulfill a defense order" can be punished with 10 years in prison. Therefore, such an idea can also be aimed at how to make russian defense personnel work better - under the supervision of prison guards.
It is interesting that design bureaus for prisoners of Stalin's time in the russian federation itself are presented as a huge achievement. They said that it was thanks to the "sharashkas" that a huge number of weapons were created, including atomic weapons, and such outstanding Soviet weapons designers as Glushko, Korolev, Kondratyuk, Tupolev and others passed through the "sharashkas".
That is, the basis for the creation of "sharashkas" thanks to which "russia will rise from its knees" has already been created a long time ago. Given the general trajectory of the Kremlin's drift, it will not be surprising if such a decision is made. Moreover, the conditions of "military communism" have already been implemented in the russian federation for the military-industrial complex, when non-fulfillment of a defense contract, the conditions of which are prescribed by the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation, threatens 10 years in prison. By the way, it is also impossible to refuse the order - such violators can also be sentenced to 10 years in prison.
In this situation, it becomes quite clear where the Kremlin plans to get personnel for its "sharashkas" - a fairly simple scheme is drawn up, according to which, when a civilian design bureau does not fulfill the contract, the whole staff is simply transferred to prison in the form of a "mobilization-type design bureau".
