The two-hundred-eighty-first day of the russian large-scale invasion has begun. Russia continues armed aggression against Ukraine. The enemy does not cease attacks on civilian infrastructure across Ukraine, thus violating the rules of International Humanitarian Law, and the laws and principles of war. The russian invaders are concentrated on further attempts to advance on Bakhmut and Avdiivka axes

As the Ukraine’s General Staff operational update regarding the russian invasion as of 06.00, on December 01, 2022 states, over the past day, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled attacks in the vicinities of Novoselivs’ke, Stelmakhivka, and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast); Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Bakhmut, Kurdyumivka, Krasnohorivka, Kam’yanka, Vodiane, Pervomais’ke, and Mar’yinka (Donetsk oblast).

The enemy is reinforcing its defensive positions on Svatove and Lyman directions, to prevent the advance of Ukrainian troops. Moreover, russian occupiers transfer troops, ammunition, fuel and lubricants and other supplies to equip and support new units and those that have suffered losses on various axes.

According to the General Staff, over the past day, the enemy launched 2x missile strikes against civilian objects in Komyshuvakha (Zaporizhzhia oblast); and conducted 41x air strikes and 28x MLRS attacks on Ukrainian settlements, including the city of Kherson, and Ukrainian positions.

There is still a threat of the occupiers carrying out missile strikes on the objects of the energy system and critical infrastructure throughout the territory of Ukraine.

Key points of the report:

  • Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes, no signs of the formation of offensive groups of the enemy were found. Preparation of certain units of the russian occupation forces in ongoing on designated belarus training grounds.
  • Sivershchyna axis: russian artillery units shelled the vicinities of Seredyna Buda, Bachivs’k, Bilopylla, Budka, and Krasnopill’a (Sumy oblast).
  • Slobozhanshchyna axis: russia maintains enhanced military presence in the border areas of its Belgorod oblast. The vicinities of Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Visoka Yaruga, Strelecha, Krasne, Starytsya Ohirtseve, Budarky, Chuhunivka, Dvorichna, and Zapadne settlements (Kharkiv oblast) were shelled by russian artillery.
  • The enemy stays on defensive on Kup’yans’k and Lyman axes. The vicinities of Kup’yans’k, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka, Tabaivka, Krokhmalne, Berestovka, and Druzhelyubivka (Kharkiv oblast); Novoselivs’ke, Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast) were shelled by the invaders.
  • Bakhmut axis: the enemy stays focused on offensive operations. The vicinities of Verkhn’okam’yans’ke, Spirne, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmuts’ke, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Opytne, Klishchiivka, Siverne, Zalizne, and New York were shelled by tanks, mortars, artillery and missile systems.
  • Avdiivka axis: the enemy attempts to improve tactical position. The vicinities of Avdiivka, Vodyane, Pervomais’ke, Nevels’ke, Krasnohorivka, Mar’yinka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast) were shelled by tanks and artillery of various types.
  • The russian occupiers stay on defencive on Novopavlivka axis. Artillery systems of various types were used to shell the vicinities of Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka, Prechistivka, and Velyka Novosilka (Donetsk oblast).
  • The enemy stays on defencive on Zaporizhzhia axis too. The vicinities of Zahirne, Orihiv, Novoandriivka, Mali Shcherbaki, and Plavna (Zaporizhzhia oblast); and Nikopol (Dnipropetrovsk oblast) suffered artillery fire.
  • Kherson axis: the enemy is defending previously occupied lines. Various settlements located on the right bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson Oblast were subject to artillery and tank fire. The enemy does not stop shelling the suburbs and the city of Kherson itself.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian missile and artillery troops engaged 7x concentrations of enemy troops and air defence assets, 1x POL warehouse, and 5x other critical military targets

According to Ukraine’s General Staff operational report, following the available information, the number of russian troops and military equipment in Oleshky (Kherson oblast) has decreased. Enemy troops were withdrawn from certain settlements of the Kherson Oblast and dispersed in forest strips along Oleshky - Gola Prystan highway. Those units are mostly manned by mobilized personnel.

The russian occupiers continue to use civilian facilities in the temporarily occupied territories. Thus, the invaders has established a field hospital in a school in one of the settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast. At the same time, during November 28-29, the evacuation of wounded invaders by a convoy of trucks and buses moving towards Melitopol was recorded.

As the Ukraine’s General Staff states, during the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Air Force conducted 17x air strikes against concentrations of enemy troops, weapons and military equipment, and delivered 4x air strikes on the positions of russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukrainian Defence Forces shot down 1x unmanned aerial vehicle (most likely of the "Orlan-10" type). The information is being clarified.
