In response to the renewal of russian missile attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, on the night of March 25, two kamikaze UAVs visited the Novocherkassk TPP and hit the power units of the power plant. Presumably, this strike indicates the beginning of a campaign of Ukrainian strikes against russian energy facilities.

This strike is interesting not only for the object on which it was struck, but also for the new drone that was used for this. According to some messages in the Ukrainian segment of social networks, the parts of the UAV that attacked the power plant in Novocherkassk belongs to the Chaklun-B drone. The flight range of this UAV is 500 km, and the weight of the warhead is quite small - only 20 kg. Thus, it can be assumed that in terms of its capabilities, this UAV can be compared with the UJ-22 and the well-known UJ-26 Bober, the flight range of which, according to preliminary data, can be 800 km.

The use of a new type of UAV shows that the Ukrainian army and special services have a wide arsenal of kamikaze UAVs. For the purpose of strikes on the power plant, it was not necessary to involve the use of a longer-range and equipped with a more powerful warhead Lut, which is used for strikes on russian oil refineries. It is known that the flight range of Lut allows this UAV to be used for targets at distances of more than 1000 km. At the same time, mass use of UAV Morok and AQ-400 Scythe has not yet been recorded. It is also known that jet UAVs of several models are under development. That is, the ability to strike drones on russian territory will only grow.

Moreover, Ukraine's capabilities are not limited by UAVs. According to The Washington Post article, missile complexes with a range exceeding 640 kilometers have entered mass production. That is, Ukraine already has and is developing an arsenal of long-range missiles of its own production, which may soon be used against the russian federation. It is still too early to say whether these systems are a further development of the Neptune anti-ship missile system, or whether the Grim-2 has finally been brought to serial production, but it is worth understanding that the process of producing its own missiles does not stand still and is developing, and the Ukrainian missile arsenal will continue to expand as it is now is happening with the arsenal of attack UAVs.
