A detonation of rocket fuel and debris dispersal highlights the effective targeting of russian military assets in Crimea

On November 29, 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed elements of the S-400 air defense system in Simferopol, Crimea. Social media highlighted an explosion and detonation of rocket fuel associated with the destruction of the air defense system components. Two impact craters measuring 13.5 m, dispersed debris and five emergency response vehicles were identified from imagery, according to the UK Defense Intelligence.

This is the second reported successful targeting of russian S-400 air defense systems by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in November, following the destruction of the S-400 air defense system in Kursk region on November 23, 2024.
