Obtaining hundreds of Western-made missile systems can be a “game changer” on the battlefield in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, during a discussion organized by the Atlantic Council on July 19.
Reznikov noted that the MLRS that the Armed Forces of Ukraine received from the Allies had already helped to destroy about 30 objects of the russian army, which helped to significantly slow down the offensive of the invaders and reduce the intensity of artillery fire.

However, in order to further deter the russian army, the Armed Forces of Ukraine need at least 50 HIMARS and M270 ("considering that our front is almost 2,500 km, it's like the distance between Barcelona and Warsaw", - Reznikov said), and for a successful counteroffensive Ukraine needs at least 100 missile systems.
In addition, to conduct the counteroffensive Ukraine’s military will require additional armored vehicles (APCs and IFVs) and reconnaissance drones.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine emphasizes that currently Ukraine needs to liberate more than 2,500 settlements. More MLRS will allow to destroy the enemy's logistics and avoid significant losses among Ukraine’s defenders.
Earlier, Defense Express reported that the Minister of Defense of russia Sergei Shoigu wants to create fake command posts to “lure” HIMARS and M270.
