S-500 Prometheus Deployed in Crimea: Capabilities of the 77N6-N/1 Missile Claimed to Counter ATACMS Missiles

Chief of Ukrainian Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, stated June 12th that russian invasion forces have already placed elements of their latest S-500 air defense missile system in Crimea, southern Ukraine.

This move on the russian side was "quite expected" since the Kremlin has focused its effort on bolstering air defenses on the occupied peninsula. Especially considering the recent losses in S-300 and S-400 air defense systems destroyed by Ukrainian air attacks with long-range ATACMS ballistic missiles.

Satellite Images Expose russian Naval Strategy: 3 Corvettes and 3 Landing Ships

OSINT analyst MT Anderson has publicly released satellite images of Novorossiysk port, captured on June 10 and 11, 2024.

These images enable a detailed assessment of two key aspects: the movement of russian Black Sea Fleet ships to the Sea of Azov under the guise of “training transitions”, and the protective measures implemented by the russian military to safeguard their vessels at the Novorossiysk base against potential Ukrainian air and sea drone attacks.

ATACMS Methodically Destroys russian Air Defense in Crimea: General Staff Announces Another Strike on S-300 and S-400

This is the second time in a few days that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have struck enemy air defense positions in Crimea.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced another round of strikes by Ukrainian forces on russian military anti-aircraft missile systems in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Overnight on June 12, near Belbek, Ukrainian forces targeted the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems, along with another S-400 system near Sevastopol.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced June 10 that a long-range strike hit three divisions of russian anti-aircraft equipment deployed in occupied Crimea — one S-400 and two more S-300 missile systems.

On June 12th satellite images of the target location have been published by the CyberBoroshno OSINT community. The imagery reveals the results of the strike in detail: at least two positions of enemy air defense systems were affected, confirming the success of the attack on S-300 and S-400.

The Atesh partisan movement reported on its Telegram channel that russian air defense units have received "recommendations" from commanders to evacuate families to military towns in the Southern Military District located in the russian federation.

Kremlin Is in Turmoil After Ukrainian Strike on russian Su-57 Fighter Jet

The Kremlin, along with Vladimir Putin, has reacted intensely to the strike on the Su-57 fighter jet.

“Regarding the details of the operation, we can neither confirm nor deny specifics. However, it is significant news: Putin is furious, and the reaction within the Kremlin is very heated and palpable. This is particularly notable because the Su-57 aircraft were intended to be kept hidden and protected,” according to Andriy Yusov, a spokesperson of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
