Lockheed Martin Drops Out of Sixth-Gen Naval Fighter Development to Replace the F/A-18 Aircraft
Lockheed Martin has been eliminated from the competition to develop the U.S. Navy’s next-generation carrier-based fighter under the F/A-XX program, which is intended to replace the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft and complement the F-35B and F-35C fighter.

Breaking Defense, citing its own sources, reports that the decision followed a review of submitted proposals. However, neither Lockheed Martin nor the Pentagon have provided official comments on the matter.
