British forces downed a drone in a high-threat area as RAF jets maintained operations over Cyprus and Jordan and officials worked with industry to protect shipping routes

A UK ground-based counter-drone unit, operating in a high-threat area, successfully downed an Iranian drone overnight, according to the UK Ministry of Defence.

UK pilots have now completed over 850 flying hours in missions in the region since the start of the conflict.

The UK is continuing to work with partners to develop a viable plan to safeguard international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The Chief of the Defence Staff has met with representatives from the merchant shipping industry to hear their concerns and discuss the situation in the region.

Royal Air Force Typhoon and F-35 jets continued their defensive missions overnight, including over Cyprus and Jordan.

As Defense Express previously reported, British troops operating in a high-threat area destroyed 14 kamikaze drones, their highest single-night total, while additional Stormer air defense systems arrived in Cyprus and RAF Typhoon and F-35 jets conducted defensive missions over Cyprus, Jordan, and Qatar.
