The Armed Forces of Ukraine ordered 255 units of Vulcano guided ammunition, designed for firing from 155mm self-propelled guns and have a firing range of up to 70 kilometers.
The supply of such ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be paid for by the budget of the German Federal Government and the funds of the European Union, says Defence24.

The authors of the portal state that there are two versions of the Vulcano series ammunition in circulation. The "simplified" version is Vulcano BER, where there is no guidance module, the firing range from a 155mm gun with a barrel length of 39 calibers is 36 km, when firing from a gun with a barrel length of 52 calibers – it is 50 km.
The "advanced" version is Vulcano GLR, it has a programmable detonator and a semi-active laser guidance system ensure the destruction of even moving targets, the firing range of a 155mm gun with a barrel length of 52 calibers reaches 70 kilometers.
The authors of Defence24 claim that there are "many indications that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive the Vulcano GLR", although the official release does not reveal the specific modification of the ammunition. Tests for shooting the Vulcano guided projectile were conducted using the PzH 2000 and CAESEAR self-propelled guns and were successfully completed.
