The ministry notes that the Buffalo MPV represents a substantial upgrade of the SASSPIR armored vehicle, which has been deployed in military operations since the 1980s in South Africa, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Engineering armored vehicles of this model are currently in service with the armed forces of Canada, France, Italy, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom.

"Remarkably, no armored vehicle of this model has ever been destroyed by explosions or shelling during its operational deployment in combat conditions," the statement adds.
As noted, The Buffalo MPV is classified as a category III vehicle under STANAG 4569 and is capable of withstanding a mine blast with an explosive force equivalent to 20 kg of TNT. The vehicle features 15 cm thick bulletproof glass and a composite armor capsule that is further reinforced by bulletproof grilles. Additionally, it is equipped with a 9-meter-long manipulator arm with an integrated camera and sensors designed for the safe defusal of explosives.
