The Ukrainian military learns to shoot down Russian missiles with the Patriot air defense system six days a week. According to the report, three systems are used for training.
As noted by a German officer involved in the training process, the Ukrainian military demonstrates high motivation in the training process.
"Motivation is high because everyone knows what it's about," said a German officer, according to the report on the Bundeswehr’s website.
The training involves mastering the point of fire control, launchers, in particular, loading the launcher with anti-aircraft missiles, using Phased Array Tracking Radar, etc. The Ukrainian military is also learning to maintain and repair the Patriot air defense system.
We will remind that at the beginning of January it became known that Germany undertook to transfer its Patriot air defense system in the PAC-3 version to Ukraine. This mobile surface-to-air missile/anti-ballistic missile system will help to shoot down those missiles, which are currently impossible to combat with the systems currently available in the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As for how long the Ukrainian military can train on the Patriot air defense system in Germany, it can be mentioned, for example, that in the USA the training period for the Ukrainian military on this air defense system has been reduced to 10 weeks.
