Poland prepares swarms of ultra-cheap naval drones against russia, copying tactics of Ukraine's SSU and GUR

Polish special forces from the JW Formoza unit are secretly testing naval drones developed by the American company HavocAI. Reports indicate they aim to replicate the tactics used by Ukraine's Security Service (SSU), Defence Intelligence (GUR), and other units armed with such drones.

Their training includes scenarios involving night navigation, intelligence gathering, and simulated infiltration. In this way, Poland is preparing for a potential conflict in the Baltic Sea, according to Army Recognition.

Defense Express adds that HavocAI was founded just 18 months ago, but this hasn't prevented it from designing and mass-producing its own naval drones. The company focuses on lowering production costs and enabling mass deployment.

They have already unveiled the Rampage Gen 1 and Gen 2 unmanned surface vessels, which can carry around 300 pounds (about 136 kilograms) of payload. These drones are equipped with solar panels, likely to extend operational range.

Starlink satellite antennas are used for control, similar to those seen on Ukrainian naval drones. A key emphasis by the company is the ability to operate these drones in large swarms.

One operator, located anywhere in the world, can control dozens of Rampage drones simultaneously. The company has previously stated that each drone currently costs around 100,000 dollars, which is relatively inexpensive for this class.

HavocAI is also developing larger drones ranging from 12 to 45 meters in length, which will be integrated into the same operational system as Rampage. To support this effort, HavocAI has entered a strategic partnership with Lockheed Martin.

Given these secret naval drone trials, it appears Poland has recognized the modern naval warfare trend, which relies on numerous low-cost systems. As a result, the country is preparing for a potential Baltic Sea conflict using these tools.
