A single soldier can now control powerful grenade launcher from a distance using this newly approved module

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially codified and approved the SHABLIA MK19(M) remote-controlled combat module for operational use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The announcement was made by the Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

The SHABLIA MK19(M) system is designed to deliver sustained fire using a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher. Its primary function is to engage enemy personnel and light armored targets at both short and extended ranges, offering battlefield units increased flexibility and lethality.

One of the key advantages of the SHABLIA MK19(M) system is its modularity and adaptability. It can be mounted on both unmanned ground vehicles and traditional military transport platforms, turning standard vehicles or robotic systems into mobile firepower assets. This provides commanders with a versatile tool that fits into various operational environments.

The combat module allows for both direct and indirect fire modes. This means it can be used for traditional line-of-sight engagements as well as indirect fire from concealed or protected positions. Its ability to strike enemy positions based on coordinates significantly enhances its tactical value, especially in complex terrain or urban warfare scenarios.

The system is controlled by a single operator, emphasizing efficiency and ease of use. The remote-control capability also increases operator safety by allowing them to remain at a protected distance from the battlefield, thereby reducing risk while maintaining combat effectiveness.

With its successful codification and entry into military service, the SHABLIA MK19(M) is set to enhance the capabilities of Ukrainian troops across a range of missions, from frontline engagements to defensive operations from fortified positions.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian defense tech developers from Brave1 innovation cluster have introduced a new electronic warfare system designed to counter russian-operated Mavic drones. The unit, called Algiz AM, is already in use on the front lines and aims to disrupt the growing threat posed by commercial drones repurposed for military reconnaissance and attack.
