A newly released video from UNITED24 has provided additional insights into the launch process and operational use of Ukraine's FP-5 Flamingo missile. The footage shows both the preparation and launch of the missile, offering a rare look at how Ukrainian engineers and military personnel cooperate during such operations.

The FP-5 system is developed by the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, which has been working on long-range strike capabilities. According to the video, launching the missile is a complex process that involves both company engineers and Ukrainian military units working together to ensure the system is prepared and the surrounding airspace is secure.

According to ExitedBulgarian, one of the notable aspects highlighted in the footage is the role of the military during launch preparations. Ukrainian forces monitor the area around the launch site and attempt to intercept any drones operating nearby that could threaten the operation or reveal the launch position. The video mentions the involvement of the Ukrainian Air Force in this process, although the exact structure of the security measures is not fully specified.

Meanwhile, engineers from Fire Point assemble and prepare the missile for launch. The footage shows that the FP-5 missile is transported without its wings attached, which are installed later during the final preparation stage. This modular approach likely simplifies transportation and handling before the missile is moved to the launch position.

The video also shows several launches of the FP-5 missile targeting russian military facility associated with the GRAU of the Ministry of Defense of russia. The strikes were directed at an arsenal near the settlement of Kotluban, where at least one bunker was reportedly destroyed during the attack.

Multiple missiles were launched during the strike, with footage suggesting that around four were fired at the target. The attack demonstrates the system's intended role in hitting heavily protected military infrastructure deep behind enemy lines.

Another notable detail revealed in the video concerns the warhead configuration of the FP-5 Flamingo unit. The missile reportedly carries a 1,150-kilogram warhead containing approximately 600 kilograms of explosive material. This differs from earlier speculation suggesting that the system might use repurposed American Mark 84 bomb warheads, which have different characteristics.

While many aspects of the system had already been known from previous reports, the new video offers rare visual confirmation of the launch procedure and provides additional technical details about the missile's configuration and combat use. Such disclosures remain relatively uncommon for Ukrainian long-range strike systems, making the footage a valuable glimpse into their operational deployment.
