On October 9, pilots from the Phoenix unit of Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, together with comrades from neighboring units, successfully repelled another large-scale russian assault toward Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region

According to the Phoenix unit, the enemy launched a massive attack, employing four tanks and a large number of other armored vehicles.

The russians once again attempted to advance on the city using heavy armor, trying to exploit rainy weather conditions as cover for their movements.

Thanks to the skill, professionalism, and precision of Ukrainian border guard pilots from the Phoenix unit, Ukrainian defenders struck the advancing armor with pinpoint accuracy, stopping the enemy deep in the rear. Not a single additional meter of Ukrainian land was lost.

Confirmed destroyed in this engagement:

  • 4 tanks
  • 4 BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles
  • 1 MT-LB armored transporter
  • 10 other armored combat vehicles

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian border guard pilots from the Phoenix unit showcased a series of FPV operations that destroyed enemy troops, vehicles, and armored targets.

According to an official report from the unit's page, the Phoenix operators continue to expand their strike capabilities, carrying out increasingly coordinated and accurate missions against russian forces along the front line.
