russian troops have begun constructing so-called anti-drone corridors in Kursk region, aiming to shield military equipment from Ukrainian drone strikes.
Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, stated that these corridors are being set up to allow russian vehicles to move more safely near the border with Ukraine. The defensive measure appears to be a response to frequent attacks by Ukrainian FPV drones on russian positions and equipment in the area.

Despite these efforts, Ukrainian drone operators have reportedly been able to identify and strike targets within these protected routes. A video released by the 15th Mobile Border Detachment allegedly shows a drone strike on russian vehicles using one such corridor near Sumy region.
The report comes amid continued fighting along the border. Ukraine’s General Staff noted four combat engagements in the Kursk direction on April 15 alone, following 17 such incidents the previous day. Additionally, russian sources claimed that drone attacks in the city of Kursk that night resulted in fires and casualties among civilians.
The emergence of these corridors suggests an evolving approach by russian forces to adapt to the growing role of drones in modern warfare.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian drone operators from the Terra aerial reconnaissance unit of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade have reportedly destroyed North Korean M1989 Koksan self-propelled gun in Kursk region.
The M1989 Koksan, a 170 mm artillery system with a range of up to 60 km, was targeted while relocating to a new firing position. Despite being equipped with a makeshift anti-drone cage, Ukrainian pilots maneuvered a drone under the cage and struck the vehicle through an open hatch, causing it to catch fire.
