President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have struck russian targets worth almost $40 billion since their creation a year ago

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have inflicted nearly $40 billion in damage on russian targets in just one year since the grouping was created. The statement came during his evening address on June 10, when he also signed a decree establishing a new professional holiday – the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the most important aspect of Ukraine's drone campaign is the diversity of strike types, each of which expands the country's ability to protect lives and preserve manpower on the battlefield. He emphasized that drones have become a critical tool not only for tactical operations but also for strategic pressure on russian forces.

The president described the Unmanned Systems Forces as a model for many other militaries, pointing to the rapid evolution of Ukraine's drone capabilities during the full-scale war.

In particular, he praised the so-called "mid-strikes" – medium-range attacks that now allow Ukrainian drones to hit russian military logistics across the entire depth of temporarily occupied territory.

These strikes have significantly expanded Ukraine's operational reach. Where drones were once primarily associated with frontline reconnaissance and short-range attacks, they are now being used to disrupt supply chains, ammunition depots, command posts, and transport infrastructure far behind russian lines.
