Ukraine's president cited intelligence indicating that antennas used to guide drones against Ukraine are installed on apartment rooftops near the border

russia of using equipment placed on residential buildings in Belarus to support attacks against Ukrainian territory. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy raised the issue, citing intelligence assessments related to recent Shahed drone strikes.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian intelligence has identified guidance and support equipment deployed in populated areas of Belarus near the Ukrainian border. He stated that the equipment used to conduct strikes against Ukraine is being positioned directly within civilian settlements, including on the rooftops of residential apartment buildings.

The president said antennas and other technical systems installed on ordinary multi-story buildings are being used to assist in guiding russian Shahed-type loitering munitions toward western regions of Ukraine. Such deployments, he suggested, indicate a deliberate use of civilian infrastructure to support military operations.

The claim that Belarusian territory is being used to control or guide Shahed drones has been discussed previously by Ukrainian specialists. Radio-electronics expert Serhii Flash corroborated the assessment, stating that although Shahed drones may enter Ukrainian airspace from russia, their control and guidance are likely being conducted from Belarus.

Serhii Flash cited a series of recent attacks to support his assessment, including strikes on Ukrainian train, railway repair crew, railway bridge, and locomotive depot over several consecutive days. These incidents, he said, point to coordinated drone operations targeting Ukraine's transportation infrastructure.

The positioning of such equipment in Belarus serves a broader operational purpose. One of the key objectives is to disrupt logistics routes between Poland and Ukraine, which are critical for both civilian transport and the delivery of international assistance.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine continues to strengthen its air defense network with the support of international partners, as Germany has delivered a ninth IRIS-T air defense missile system. The transfer was previously announced by Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and later confirmed on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
