The unit reported the strike on its official page.

According to Ukrainian warriors, this system was developed in the late 1970s and is extremely rare on the battlefield. Its purpose is to detect air targets and coordinate short-range air-defense units.
"Using this system, the enemy can even target our aircraft," the Phoenix unit noted.
The target was detected by an FPV drone pilot with the callsign Voyazh during a patrol deep in enemy territory. He spotted a masked column moving along a road under camouflage netting.

"Suddenly, the border guard saw several occupiers rushing around in an open area. Without hesitation, Voyazh set course for the target and struck it," the Phoenix unit reported.
Eliminating this system reduces the russian army's air-defense coordination capabilities in this sector.
As previously reported by Defense Express, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces shot down a russian Mi-8 helicopter at long range using a UAV. An unmanned aerial vehicle operated by the SOF downed a russian Mi-8 for the first time in russia's Rostov region.
"For the first time, a russian Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed in mid-air by a Ukrainian Special Operations Forces deep-strike drone," the SOF press office stated.
