During the night of December 17, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces carried out a precision strike against a field artillery ammunition depot belonging to russia's 101st Separate Logistics Brigade of the 51st Combined Arms Army. The target was located in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.
The operation was conducted by front-strike units of the Special Operations Forces using FP-2 strike unmanned aerial vehicles. Footage of the attack was later published on the SOF's official communication channels, confirming the successful engagement of the facility.

Ukrainian forces reported that the depot played a critical role in sustaining russian combat operations in the area. It was actively used to store and supply artillery ammunition, directly supporting the offensive capabilities of russian units operating along the front line.
The destruction or disabling of such logistics infrastructure is considered particularly impactful, as artillery remains a cornerstone of russian battlefield tactics. Disruptions to ammunition supply chains can significantly reduce the intensity and tempo of enemy fire, especially during offensive or preparatory phases.
In its statement, the Special Operations Forces emphasized their continued reliance on asymmetric tactics. These operations are designed to offset russia's numerical and material advantages by targeting vulnerable yet strategically important nodes deep behind the front line.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine's Lasar's Group, operating in coordination with specialists from the State Service of Special Communications, and troops of the 39th Coastal Defense Brigade, has destroyed russian 2S6 Tunguska self-propelled air defense system. The strike further degrades russian short-range air defense coverage in a contested frontline sector.
