Operators from Ukraine's 15th Brigade have detected and helped neutralize russian army-level command and control communications station known as Torf-S. Footage of the combat operation was published on the Brigade's official channels, confirming the successful targeting of the system.
The Torf-S system is a high-value communications asset used to provide stable, direct links between military units at distances of at least 150 kilometers. In addition, it can be employed to establish radio-relay and tropospheric communication lines extending up to 500-560 kilometers using multiple relay points.

Such capabilities make the system a critical element of higher-level command and control, enabling coordination across wide operational areas. The loss of this system therefore carries consequences beyond the tactical level, potentially disrupting command connectivity between formations operating along the front.
A key limitation of the Torf-S system is that it can only operate while stationary. Ukrainian forces exploited this vulnerability after the system was located by artillery reconnaissance assets, allowing friendly fire units to deliver a precise and destructive strike.
According to the brigade, the successful engagement was the result of coordinated action between reconnaissance operators and strike elements, reflecting the increasing integration of intelligence, surveillance, and firepower across Ukrainian forces.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian border guard units continue to play an active combat role on the Southern Slobozhansk axis, conducting precision drone strikes against russian military assets.
Fighters from the Strix UAV strike unit of the 4th Detachment damaged two russian tanks and destroyed multiple supporting systems.
