The extent of the damage is still being assessed. No further details about the specific facilities or production lines affected have been disclosed.
JSC Proton-Electrotex is described by the General Staff as one of russia’s leading manufacturers of optoelectronic equipment and devices, operating a full production cycle.
Its products include modules used in Kh-71 Kover cruise missiles, as well as switch-inverters incorporated into 9M723 ballistic missiles of Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system.
The latter are particularly important because Iskander-M system is regularly used by russian forces to strike Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure. Disrupting the supply of its components could therefore affect russia’s ability to manufacture and maintain its missile arsenal.
