Reports say the attack triggered an ammunition depot explosion and killed russian troops

On the night and morning of May 16, drones attacked the temporarily occupied Crimea. This was reported by the Crimean Wind Telegram channel.

The explosions took place in Sevastopol, Yalta, Alupka, Bakhchysarai, Balaklava and the village of Perevalne.

Smoke was seen rising over Perevalne following the explosions. Local residents reported a fire and detonation at an ammunition depot on the territory of a military unit. The 126th Coastal Defense Brigade of the russian Black Sea Fleet is located there. According to Crimean residents, russian soldiers were also killed in the ammunition depot blasts. The Simferopol–Alushta highway was closed.

In Sevastopol, explosions were heard near the Belbek and Kacha airfields. The Atesh partisan movement reported that its agents documented damage to russian military targets in Crimea.

"Our agents recorded explosions in the Perevalne area, including at the military bases of the 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade and the 8th Separate Artillery Regiment. Information has emerged about soldiers who were killed while on duty at the ammunition depot," the movement stated.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, head of the russian-installed administration in Sevastopol, confirmed the UAV attack on the peninsula.

Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukraine had carried out its largest drone strike yet on Crimean airfields.
