The 429th Brigade carried out strikes that weakened russia's frontline firepower on the Belgorod axis

Ukrainian drone operators continue to systematically degrade russian firepower along the northeastern front, with new strikes reported on the Belgorod axis and in border areas of Kharkiv region. Units of the Achilles 429th Brigade have targeted a range of high-value assets, underscoring the expanding role of drones in shaping battlefield dynamics.

According to Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, the brigade successfully hit multiple pieces of russian equipment, including the TOS-1A Solntsepyok thermobaric system, 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery unit, as well as a tank and additional armored vehicles. These systems are typically used to deliver concentrated firepower against Ukrainian positions.

The destruction or disabling of the TOS-1A system is particularly significant. This heavy flamethrower system is designed to fire thermobaric rockets capable of devastating fortified positions and urban areas. Its loss reduces russia's ability to conduct high-intensity assaults, especially in close-range engagements.

Similarly, the targeting of the 2S3 Akatsiya artillery system limits the enemy's indirect fire capabilities. Self-propelled artillery plays a central role in sustaining pressure along the front line, and its suppression can disrupt coordinated fire missions and reduce overall combat effectiveness.

Beyond firepower, Ukrainian strikes also focused on mobility. The reported hits on tanks and other armored vehicles degrade russia's ability to maneuver forces, reinforce positions, and maintain logistical flows in contested areas near the border.

Operations along the Belgorod direction carry additional strategic weight. This axis has increasingly become a zone of cross-border pressure, where Ukrainian forces seek to stretch russian defenses and force the redeployment of assets away from more critical sectors of the front.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian drone operators have carried out a rare and highly symbolic strike against russian army aviation, reportedly hitting the Kamov Ka-52 attack helicopter with an FPV drone in Donetsk region. The incident highlights the continued evolution of low-cost drone warfare against high-value airborne targets.
