As the latest the U.K. Defense Ministry’s Defense Intelligence update on the situation in Ukraine notes, In the last two weeks, russia has likely redeployed major elements of its airborne forces (so called VDV) to Donetsk and Luhansk regions with a maine missions to support offencive operations in Donetsk region and to support defending units in Luhansk region

“In the last two weeks, Russia has likely redeployed major elements of the VDV (airborne forces) to the Donetsk and Luhansk fronts in the Donbas,” the U.K. Defense Ministry said in its daily intelligence update posted on Twitter.

As the British intelligence states, from September to October, most of the severely weakened units of russia’s airborne forces’ units were dedicated to the defence of russian-held territory west of the Dnipro River in Kherson region.
