These tanks are known for their high mobility, firepower, and reliability, essential traits on today's dynamic battlefield. The Leopard 2A4 vehicle, for instance, is equipped with a Rheinmetall's Rh-120 L44 120 mm smoothbore gun, dual MG3 7.62 mm machine guns, a powerful 1,500-horsepower diesel engine, and the EMES-15 fire control system with thermal imaging and a laser rangefinder. This configuration allows the tank to accurately engage targets day or night, in all weather conditions.

Its terrain-handling capabilities are equally impressive: the Leopard 2 vehicle can overcome 30° inclines, 1.1-meter vertical obstacles, 3-meter-wide trenches, and water barriers up to 1.2 meters deep or 4 meters when using a snorkel. The tank's advanced armor provides protection against modern threats including anti-tank missiles and loitering munitions.

The Leopard 1A5 variant, a modernized version of the original Leopard 1 vehicle, features a 105 mm gun and upgraded targeting systems, improving crew ergonomics and operational efficiency. While not primarily deployed in first-echelon assault formations due to the nature of modern warfare, tanks remain among the most formidable assets on the battlefield comparable in value to artillery in delivering decisive firepower.

The National Guard of Ukraine personnel are undergoing rigorous training to operate and maintain these systems effectively, including programs conducted abroad. New weapons are being adapted to Ukraine's battlefield conditions, particularly in the east and south, with a focus on countering threats such as FPV drones. This includes integrating aerial reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence with tactical deployment.

The National Guard of Ukraine extended its gratitude to international allies for supporting the development of a modern, combat-ready force, reinforcing its position as a vital component of Ukraine's defense architecture.
