​The Armed Forces of Ukraine Intercepted and Destroyed more than Three Dozen russian Cruise Missiles and Kamikaze Drones

The air defense units successfully neutralized all the launched cruise missiles and nearly two dozen kamikaze drones

During the night of September 18 russia launched dozens of missiles and kamikaze drones into the territory of Ukraine. The Air Force Command reported on the work of Ukrainian air defense units, which successfully repelled this attack with high efficiency.

Indeed, out of eight Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Volgograd region, the enemy launched 17 cruise missiles of the X-101/X-555/X-55 types towards Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted and destroyed all of these missiles within the regions of Dnipro, Poltava and Khmelnytskyi.

Consequently, for the second consecutive day, the enemy has been employing their Tu-95MS aircraft in attacks. On the previous day, September 17, a total of 10 missiles were launched from nine Tu-95MS planes, with Ukrainian forces successfully downing six of them.

Additionally, during the night, the enemy once again launched dozens of the Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones upon Ukraine, originating from two directions, namely, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Cape Chauda. A total of 24 drones were launched towards the regions of Mykolaiv and Odesa. Out of these, 18 kamikaze drones, or 75% of all deployed drones, were successfully neutralized.

In total, during the month of September, the russian occupying forces have launched a total of 293 Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones at Ukraine. Impressively, Ukrainian air defense units have successfully intercepted and destroyed 229 of these drones, which accounts for approximately 78.15% of the total number deployed.
