The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) carried out an unprecedented special operation outside Ukraine, striking russian shadow fleet tanker in neutral waters in the Mediterranean Sea

According to the SSU, a new unprecedented special operation was carried out more than 2,000 kilometers away from Ukrainian territory.

Following a series of operations in neutral waters in the Mediterranean Sea, the SSU's Alpha special unit struck the QENDIL2 tanker, part of russia's so-called shadow fleet, using UAVs.

It is noted that the russian ship was reportedly empty and carrying no cargo at the time of the special operation. Accordingly, the attack posed no threat to the environment in the region.

"russia used this tanker to circumvent sanctions and earn money that funded the war against Ukraine. Therefore, from the perspective of international law and the laws and customs of war, this was a completely legitimate target for the SSU. The enemy must understand that Ukraine will not stop and will strike it anywhere in the world, wherever it may be," the statement reads.

As a result of the attack, the QENDIL tanker sustained critical damage and can no longer be used for its intended purpose.

The SSU continues to systematically destroy russian occupiers both within Ukraine and beyond its borders. Earlier, we reported that SSU had struck Belbek airbase with FP-2 Drones, taking out radars and MiG-31 fighter jet.
