Ukrainian forces hit strike UAV storage facilities and ammunition depots in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions in a coordinated night operation

Ukrainian forces carried out a coordinated night strike on April 14, targeting a series of high-value russian military sites in the temporarily occupied territory. The operation combined air-launched cruise missiles, guided bombs, and attack drones, reflecting a layered approach to striking both infrastructure and supply systems.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the primary targets was a storage site for strike drones near Donetsk airport. The Ukrainian Air Force units launched SCALP cruise missiles and GBU-39 guided aerial bombs to hit the facility, which is believed to have been used to support russian UAV operations.

The choice of target highlights a growing focus on countering russia's use of attack drones. By striking storage locations rather than individual launch platforms, Ukrainian forces aim to reduce the enemy's ability to sustain drone attacks over time.

In parallel, Ukrainian strike drones targeted ammunition depots in several locations. These included areas near Azovske in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Urzuf and Kulykivske in Donetsk region. Hitting ammunition storage sites can have an immediate impact on frontline operations by limiting available firepower.

The use of multiple strike methods in a single operation suggests a high level of coordination. Cruise missiles and guided bombs were likely employed against fortified or high-priority targets, while drones were used to engage additional sites and expand the overall scope of the attack.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces continue to intensify pressure on russian air defense and logistics, with a new series of coordinated strikes carried out across multiple frontline directions. Over the first half of April, Ukrainian units conducted a wide range of operations targeting high-value assets, including air defense systems, supply hubs, and ammunition depots.
