russian occupation forces have suffered "significant losses" in the southern region of Kherson following the Ukrainian counteroffensive launched earlier this week, CNN reports with reference to Ukrainian military official Natalia Humeniuk, spokesperson for the southern defense forces.
"The enemy suffers quite significant losses — losses in manpower have gone from tens to hundreds. Equipment also burns. <...> Therefore, our successes are quite convincing, and I think very soon we will be able to disclose more positive news," CNN reports Natalia Humeniuk as saying.

"We continue to destroy the enemy in terms of its logistics, capabilities, capacities. Ammunition warehouses explode, pontoon crossings explode. It means that the enemy's logistics and transport connections are undermined to such an extent that they cannot raise reserves."
Earlier today, Operational Command "South" reported "effective strikes" on a russian ferry crossing over the Dnipro river in the south, in continuation of the strategy of full isolation of the right bank of the river off russian supplies from Crimea.
Two more ferry crossings were destroyed the previous day, and the strategic bridges suffered strikes too, to ensure their disabled state.
Ukrainian aviation continues to feel confident in the skies, with 18 airstrikes launched on September 1, whereas russians lost another Su-25. The full list of confirmed losses of the russian army is here.
However, Ukrainian military command is careful with announcement of regained settlements, as it may pose threat to civilians, Humeniuk said the other day.
"Only after the complete liberation of populated areas, fully clearing the occupiers out of them, and after our troops have advanced enough to guarantee the safety of civilians, will we announce the names of the liberated settlements.
