russians began to boast that they had allegedly shot down a new Ukrainian development, the Palianytsia, which they called a "missile drone" or a "rocket drone." As evidence, they show the wreckage of the aerial vehicle with a jet engine, stating that it was quite large - 3.5×2.5 meters.
The object was shot down near the village of Kolodnoye in the Kursk region, which is about 100 km from Ukraine's border or 75 km from the frontline. The wreckage is heavily damaged and at the time of publication, russian sources did not report about any labels.

russians also report that the speed of this development was 400-500 km/h, the warhead was about 100 kg, and the range was estimated at 400-700 km. The only reason why this object was identified as Palianytsia is the jet engine of an unidentified brand.

We can also see that the fuselage is made of carbon fiber, which is traditionally used in drones. Although the shape of the fuselage is very difficult to identify, but it seems to be a flying wing. So, it means that it is not the classic aerodynamic scheme of a mid-wing aircraft, according to the official images of the Palianytsia.
Therefore, it should be recalled that Ukraine has repeatedly used turbojet UAVs, such as the British QinetiQ Banshee Jet 80. It should be noted that the original version of the target drone has a wingspan of 2.5 meters, a length of up to 3 meters, and a speed of up to 648 km/h. The size of the warhead is unknown. The Banshee Jet 80 is equipped with two engines, while at the photos we can see only one. Although it is possible that the second one is lying around somewhere else.

An unknown Ukrainian drone is equipped with one jet engine, which russia was able to intercept for the first time in early 2024. It is something similar to the British one and has similar dimensions, but according to russian estimates, it carries only a 20-kg warhead.

After all, other jet drones, such as the UJ-25 or the drone demonstrated by Ukrainian volunteer Maksym Hlushak, are known. His drone was initially actively linked to the Palianytsia until official images appeared, but these UAVs were not made according to the flying wing scheme.
It is possible that there are other drones, and not necessarily Ukrainian ones. russia could have shot down its own UAV, for example, an analog of the Shahed-238 turbojet drone.
Thus, it looks more like russians are ready to call any unidentified drone with a jet engine Palianytsia.
Earlier Defense Express reported that russian anti-aircraft FPV drone's first known attack had failed.
