A Ukrainian Furia unmanned aerial system (UAS) managed to return to base despite the attack by a russian anti-aircraft FPV drone

Despite the fact that russia claimed to have the first successful use of an anti-aircraft FPV drone, it turned out that this attack was not effective. The Athlon Avia company, the developer and manufacturer of Furia unmanned aerial system (UAS), which has been in service since 2014, released a video showing both the moment of the attack and how the drone managed to stabilize its flight.

"The A1-SM Furia successfully stabilized itself within seconds, continued its flight, and made a safe landing near the crew. The drone sustained minor damage, which was addressed on-site, and it is already helping to destroy the enemy again," stated a message from the Athlon Avia.

In the video, we can notice the russian anti-aircraft FPV drone attempting to ram and take down the Ukrainian Furia in several frames.

At the same time, it is worth noting that despite a certain false start from russia regarding claims about their anti-aircraft FPV drones, the enemy will still move in this direction, scale up their numbers, and copy Ukrainian solutions and tactics. Ultimately, FPV drones as interceptors of reconnaissance UAVs can indeed be more effective than traditional anti-aircraft missiles. Meanwhile, russia has already begun to devise countermeasures.

That is why we are currently discussing the emergence of competition in a new field of drone usage, where reconnaissance drones must obtain appropriate protection systems or tactics that will reduce the threat from interceptor FPVs. The winner will be the one who not only implements the best ideas but also manages to scale them effectively.

Let us remind you that the Athlon Avia company, which is part of NAUDI, has developed a new reconnaissance UAV called Furia 2, which has twice the capabilities compared to the first version of the UAV and includes several other innovations.
