The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine has published information about the russian commander of the GROM Kaskad Unmanned Aviation Brigade, Ruslan Negrub. According to reports, he is married to Nadezhda Negrub, and the couple has a 20-year-old son.
However, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine claims that the GROM Kaskad Brigade is now launching Shahed drones across Ukraine. To understand the situation, it is worth looking back at the past events, that were described in detail by the Center for Journalistic Investigations.

The GROM Kaskad Brigade was founded in 2023 as the first drone brigade within the Russian Air Force. Earlier it was reported that this brigade uses reconnaissance and strike UAVs such as Lancet, Orlan-10, Supercam S350, Zala, and others.
The arrival of Shahed drones marked a turning point for GROM Kaskad, enabling it to carry out strikes not at tactical, but at strategic depth.

It's comparable to a unit operating, for example, Iskander systems being given ground-based launchers capable of firing intercontinental missiles.
The best solution would be to arm individual units located outside the front line and designated exclusively for this task with Shaheds. However, russia has armed a brigade on the front line with them, even though all launch sites are located several hundred kilometers from the border.

One possible explanation for why the GROM Kaskad Brigade received such drones is that russians began using them against frontline cities and positions.
This decision could be seen as somewhat unexpected, since the russian occupation forces already have other means of striking at that depth, such as guided aerial bombs equipped with the Universal Gliding and Correction Module (UMPK).
