russian AZP S-60 anti-aircraft gun was destroyed by the explosion of its own shell. This was reported by Operativno ZSU Telegram channel.

"russian S-60 crew sintered as a result of a shell exploding in the gun barrel," the statement reads.

This is not the first time such cases have occurred in russian army. It mostly causes by ignorance of safety rules and negligence. It is unknown what caused the self-liquidation this time. It is quite possible that this happened due to obsolete or poor quality shells.

AZP S-60 is a Soviet towed, single-barrel anti-aircraft gun from the 1950s. The gun was extensively used in Warsaw Pact, Middle Eastern and South-East Asian countries. S-60 systems are also used in Ukraine’s army. The S-60 appeared in Ukraine’s army not only from storage bases, but also from the reserves of the armed forces of Ukraine’s partner countries.

Earlier Defense Express reported that russian military had used rare Korean 130 mm projectiles for the Stalin-era M-46 gun.
