russian occupation forces have released a new video claiming a successful night strike by a heavy multirotor drone against Ukrainian positions in the Zaporizhzhia sector. The footage, published by russian media, allegedly shows one of their unmanned aerial vehicles dropping mortar munitions on positions of Ukrainian forces.
The drone, identified as the Night Witch, conducted a single sortie during which it targeted both Ukrainian strongpoint and temporary deployment site. Occupiers claim that at least four Ukrainian servicemembers were present at the location.

The video captures several explosions, but their impact cannot be independently assessed, nor can it be confirmed whether the drone strike achieved any meaningful result.
The Night Witch drone itself is presented by russian propagandists as a heavy hexacopter-bomber developed by the Groza group of companies. Moscow portrays it as a capable strike drone designed for nocturnal operations, a narrative aimed at showcasing technological superiority and boosting morale among russian audiences.
Russian sources assert that this drone can carry up to 10 kilograms of explosive payload over a distance of around 12 kilometers before returning to base. The claim, however, has not been independently verified, and russian promotional figures often exaggerate the real capabilities of their equipment.
Judging by the released footage, the operators used four mortar shells as the drone's payload.
As Defense Express previously reported, a powerful explosion struck near the settlement of Sosnovka in russia's Khabarovsk Krai on November 13, temporarily blocking freight traffic along the strategically vital Trans-Siberian Railway.
The incident disrupted one of the key logistical arteries used by the aggressor state to move weapons and ammunition, including supplies transferred from North Korea. The derailment represents a significant interruption to a route that Moscow heavily relies on to support its military operations.
