russians do not understand how they can use tanks on the battlefield at this stage of the war, so they propose to rely on guided aerial bombs, different types of drones, and long-range missiles as weapons that can bring russia a military advantage.
This was stated in an article by the head of russian Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST) Ruslan Pukhov, which was disseminated by russian propaganda resources. This is essentially a declaration of a drone production race at the doctrinal level.

In particular, the article states that "modern warfare has taken on a different form," which now excludes the possibility of applying the principle of concentrating forces on the main direction of attack, "even if this idea is slowly reaching commanders at different levels" (referring to the russian army – ed.). Since the battlefield has become fully permeable to drones, troops are now required to operate in small groups.
Tanks have essentially lost their significance on the battlefield, as the russian army can now only use its main battle tanks for firing from closed positions when the Defense Forces of Ukraine have an insufficient density of drones in a particular area of the front.

It is emphasized that infantry fighting vehicles have now taken on a greater role in modern warfare, both as a tool for direct support of assault troops on the battlefield and as a means of transporting personnel in the frontline zone.
The cost-effectiveness of FPV drones was so unprecedented that the battlefield became flooded with drones on both sides of the front, which to some extent neutralized not only classic manned aircraft but also classic reconnaissance and strike UAVs, such as the Bayraktar TB2 and russian Orion.
Against this background, the head of russian CAST proclaimed that at the current stage of the war, russia should rely on KABs, drones, and long-range missiles, with aircraft carrying guided bombs being envisioned as a tool for "isolating the battlefield."

Therefore, russians envisage a simple formula for further combat operations against Ukraine, which involves a combination of assault units, UAV fireteams and UAV operators, who must act as a unified force.
It should be emphasized that all of the above should be perceived as a strategic and doctrinal challenge from the enemy, to which Ukraine is fully capable of responding.
As Defense Express reported russia planned to produce 75,000 guided bombs in 2025.
