Ukrainian drones struck the Novatek-Ust-Luga oil-processing complex in russia's Leningrad region on Tuesday, September 1, according to Ukraine's Defense Intelligence.
The strike was carried out as part of a joint deep-strike operation involving the Department of Active Actions, its Unmanned Systems Department and other components.

The attack hit key elements of an oil-processing installation as well as other technological equipment at the facility.
A large fire broke out at the complex following the strike. The Defense Intelligence described the facility as one that contributes to russia's ability to sustain its war against Ukraine.
Novatek-Ust-Luga is a production and transshipment complex located in the Ust-Luga port area of the Leningrad region. The facility is designed for the fractionation and processing of stable gas condensate.
The complex has a processing capacity of nearly 8 million tonnes of feedstock per year, making it an important part of russia's fuel-processing infrastructure.
The facility has previously been targeted by Ukrainian drones. In August, an attack on the complex reportedly caused damage to its gas-condensate processing infrastructure.
