It has been recently reported that russians started using a new weapon, which is the UMPB D-30SN glide bomb. It is analogue to the U.S. GBU-39glide bomb, including ability to launch from ground-based rocket launchers, just as GLSDB. On March 10, it was officially reported that this weapon was used to strike rear Ukrainian city of Myrnohrad in Donetsk Oblast.
The spokesman of Tavria operational-strategic group, Dmytro Lykhoviy, told that russians had struck the residential area using three UMPB D-30SN glide bombs on the air of the national telethon. As a result, five people were wounded, including one teenager as well as apartment buildings were damaged.

Thus, the bomb hit to a depth of more than 30 kilometers from the frontline. Initially, it was believed that the strike took place by the S-300 SAM system.
It is known that russia uses UMPB mainly to hit positions of the Defenders of Ukraine, but not to strike the rear areas, due to the fact that the range of such kits is 50-70 kilometrs. Thus, if it was an air strike it means that the range of the UMPB D-30SN is longer, or these bombs were launched from ground-based launcher. russian troops use modernizedBM-30 Smerch self-propelled multiple rocket launcher - Tornado-S MLRS to launch UMPB D-30SN.
Thus, it can be noted that the use of the UMPB D-30SN may turn out to be more massive, rather than single, as it usually happens with any new type of weapon.
At the same time, unlike the UMPK, UMPB D-30SN, (the russian acronym UMPB means Versatile Intermediate Gliding Munition) is most likely a newly developed munition, but not a kit for conventional bombs. This means that its production cannot be comparable to UMPK, which is mass-produced in the city of Korolev near Moscow, and it is considered to be more expensive.
Earlier Defense Express reported that putin had declared readiness of Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles.
