Due to the frequent and highly effective actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in temporarily occupied Crimea, the enemy resorts to cynical crimes. For the russians, this is common practice, involving the deliberate placement of military objects near civilian areas to deter Ukrainian strikes, National Resistance Center of Ukraine reports.
The russian side systematically violates the rules of international humanitarian law, which state that “the military command shall avoid deploying military objectives in densely populated areas or in their vicinity”. However, using the civilian population as cover is typical for russia.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, russian troops have placed military equipment in civilian areas of Crimea. This practice extends to all temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including the placement of their military in schools, hospitals and other public facilities.
