The Lazar Separate Special Purpose Detachment of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU), an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) unit, has emerged as one of the most effective units within the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale russia's invasion of russia to Ukraine in 2022, the total value of russian military equipment destroyed by the group has exceeded $15 billion

Ruslan Muzychuk, spokesperson for the National Guard of Ukraine, provided these figures in an exclusive comment to ArmyInform.

Recently, Lazar's Group expanded its record by disabling 13 additional units of russian hardware. The equipment was detected and engaged in the Lyman sector within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of the 3rd Army Corps.

"The enemy was detected within the engagement zone by the aerial reconnaissance elements of the Lazar's Group strike UAV unit, acting in coordination with a State Border Guard Service of Ukraine unit. Based on the gathered intelligence, night bomber crews were deployed to execute a series of precision strikes on the targets," Muzychuk stated.

Lazar's Group conducted the reconnaissance phase jointly with the Military Aviation Detachment of the Operational-Intelligence Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The joint effort allowed for the precise tracking of the enemy equipment's locations.

"The successful operation resulted in the confirmed destruction or neutralization of 13 pieces of enemy hardware, including 10 armored fighting vehicles (AFVs), two cargo trucks, and one fuel tanker," the officer reported.

russian forces intended to utilize this equipment for offensive operations in the Lyman direction.

"The operation was carried out in close coordination with units of the 3rd Army Corps. The synchronized actions of various components of Ukraine's Defense Forces once again demonstrate the effectiveness of inter-service cooperation and the ability to inflict substantial losses on the enemy," Muzychuk emphasized.

Through the coordinated efforts of Lazar’s Group, border guards, and the AFU's 3rd Army Corps, the enemy's offensive potential in the sector has been significantly diminished.

"We continue to develop our unmanned systems units. Lazar's Group remains one of the most efficient in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, they have destroyed equipment valued at over $15 billion," the NGU spokesperson added.
