The spokesperson of the South Operational Command, Dmytro Pletenchuk, reported that aian forces launched an assault on the Nestryha Island.

“The island of Nestryha is essentially part of the right bank, and securing a foothold on the opposite bank is just as crucial for them as it is for us to maintain our position on the left bank,” Dmytro Pletenchuk explained.

He suggested that this offensive might be linked to the upcoming Peace Summit scheduled for June 15-16.

As Defense Express previously reported, the First Peace Summit for Ukraine is set to take place on June 15-16, building upon the January agreement between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Swiss Confederation President Viola Amherd. The purpose of the Summit is to develop a framework for the achievement of this goal in order to inspire a future peace process.
