The new military aid package from Germany includes armored vehicles, PzH-2000 howitzers, various UAVs and air defense assets

The German government has updated the list of weapons provided to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Although Berlin does not announce aid packages, the last update of the list was on August 19. So, we are talking about deliveries that took place in the last month.

Over the past 30 days, Germany has reinforced Ukraine in the field of armored vehicles: 22 Leopard 1A5 tanks, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine are protecting in such a way that they are no longer recognizable, and 22 units of MRAP vehicles of unknown model. This is the first delivery of this type of vehicle.

The engineering equipment: three Biber bridge-laying tanks, one Dachs armoured engineer vehicle, six units of Wisent 1 mine clearing tanks, five Bandvagn 206 tracked all-terrain vehicles, one BvS10 Warthog all-terrain vehicle, eight Zetros tankers, two border protection vehicles as well as 112 other vehicles (trucks, minibuses, all-terrain vehicles, etc.).

Germany also continues to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. Over the past month, three Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns as well as two TRML-4 air surveillance radar, which can operate as part of the IRIS-T air defense system, were delivered. The transfer of 16 more small-sized radars was also mentioned.

A significant number of drones, both UAVs and surface drones, were also transferred. In particular, we are talking about 30 units of Vector reconnaissance drones, 20 RQ-35 UAVs, 12 Songbird drones with vertical takeoff and landing capability, as well as six Hornet XR UAVs from Lithuanian Granta Autonomy manufacturer, which have not been supplied by Germany before. The list also includes 20 Sonobot 5 surface drones, which are needed for mine clearance of water areas.

The transfer of two AMPS self-protection systems for helicopters from enemy missiles is very important. The list also includes 10 MG3 machine guns and 1 million rounds of ammunition for fire arms, as well as 61,000 rounds 155 mm ammunition.

The list also includes 12 PzH-2000 self-propelled howitzers, but they are listed as "under preparation and implementation". Obviously, this is a reference to the so called circular exchange of these howitzers with Qatar. It should be noted that Germany is replacing 12 Qatari artillery pieces with new ones, and will transfer the old ones to Ukraine after they are restored.

Earlier Defense Express reported that twelve German promised to Ukraine PzH 2000 in 2024 had been delayed.
