Mark Rutte reveals significant financial commitment during Kyiv Security Forum, including support for Czech Republic’s artillery shells initiative

During the 16th annual Kyiv Security Forum, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte made a special video announcement regarding the Netherlands’ commitment to supporting Ukraine. He revealed that the Netherlands will allocate 2 billion euros this year for this purpose, with 250 million euros specifically designated for the Czech Republic’s initiative to procure artillery shells.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine as much as necessary. In this context, a ten-year bilateral security agreement was signed “to show that we remain committed. To send a clear message to Kyiv, our international partners, and Moscow that we are steadfast”.

He announced the allocation of an additional 2 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine, including the earmarked funds for the artillery shells. Mark Rutte also mentioned plans for Dutch F-16 aircraft to patrol Ukrainian skies soon.

“And this will not be our last contribution. We are also working diligently to ensure that 24 Dutch F-16 aircraft fly over Ukraine’s skies as soon as possible,” he emphasized.
