Syrskyi emphasized that 2024 was a challenging year for Ukraine’s Armed Forces, yet their resilience and determination remained unbroken.
"This year has been a challenging test of our resilience. Yet, despite everything, we have stood firm and continue to fight — holding back an overwhelmingly superior russian army, maintaining control over strategically important areas, securing the western part of the Black Sea, and reducing russia's military and industrial potential, including with deep strike capabilities," Syrskyi stated.
The Commander-in-Chief reviewed reports covering all major operational areas, including air defense, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, training, logistics, mobilization, and addressing violations.
russian Losses
Syrskyi highlighted the significant toll on russian forces, reporting that their total losses in 2024 exceeded 421,000 killed and wounded, making it the most devastating year for the invaders since the conflict began.
"Since the start of their invasion of Ukraine, russia has suffered approximately 785,000 total losses in personnel," he added.
Breakthroughs in Unmanned Systems
A major milestone in 2024 was the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces, a crucial component for modern warfare. Syrskyi noted that compared to 2023:
- The supply of drone systems to Ukrainian forces increased 19 times.
- The number of destroyed russian targets rose by 3.7 times.
"These achievements underline the importance of technological innovation in achieving battlefield success," Syrskyi said.
Strengthening Military Training
Recognizing the importance of soldier readiness, the duration of basic training for mobilized personnel was extended in 2024.
"High-quality training saves lives. I constantly stress this as a cornerstone of our efforts," Syrskyi emphasized.

Setting Priorities for 2025
The meeting concluded with a comprehensive analysis of unresolved challenges and the formulation of actionable goals for the coming year. Syrskyi assigned specific tasks to commanders and management to ensure continued progress.
"I set priorities for the coming year and outlined clear directives to strengthen our combat readiness and operational capabilities," Syrskyi concluded.
