A civilian Panamanian-flagged bulk carrier transiting the Black Sea en route to load grain at a Danube port struck a russian mine, injuring two crew members, according to South Operational Command.
Reports indicate the vessel lost propulsion and steering control following the blast. To prevent sinking, the captain intentionally grounded the ship on a sandbar. A fire also broke out on the upper deck.
