The published data on the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense covers the entire period from February 24, 2022

During his report to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskii, released extremely interesting data on the use of long-range weapons by the russian federation to strike Ukraine. They were divided into types of missiles and drones, with the number of missiles launched and intercepted, as well as the number and type of targets hit.

According to statistics, russians used 9,590 missiles and 1,397 drones to strike Ukraine. 2,429 missiles and 5,972 drones have been intercepted since February 24, 2022. 11,879 objects have been hit, most of them civilian - 6,203, while military - 5,676.

The statistics also allow us to trace the overall effectiveness of russian long-range weapons. However, these statistics are general due to a rather long period that covers the periods when Ukraine relied on the capabilities of only Soviet air defense systems, experienced an acute shortage of anti-aircraft missiles, and was only setting up air defense to fight against long-range kamikaze drones.

The interception efficiency of Kalibr, Kh-555/101 and R-500 cruise missiles is 66.62%, while the interception efficiency of Kh-59, Kh-35, Kh-31 guided and other similar missiles is 22.02%. The difference in the interception of these two similar types of these airborne threats is explained by the fact that guided missiles are usually launched at frontline or border targets where it is impossible to deploy a large number of air defense systems.

The Shahed-136 drones are combined with Lancet drones in the statistics. It shows that 13,315 units were launched, while 8,836 units were intercepted, which is 63.36%.

russians also used 1,388 ballistic missiles from Iskander and Tochka-U systems as well as KN-23 missiles from the DPRK. Only 4.47% were intercepted. Anti-aircraft missiles for S-300 and S-400 SAM systems are also mentioned. 3,008 units were used, and only 0.63% were intercepted. The enemy used these missiles to hit 4,293 targets. 3,196 were civilian and 1,097 military.

Such russian missiles as Kh-22 and Kh-32 require modern systems for interception. It is known that 362 of them were launched and 2 were shot down, which is 0.55%. The enemy used 211 P-800 Oniks cruise missiles, 12 were intercepted, which is 5.69%.

The russian Aerospace Forces used Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missile 111 times. 28 of them were intercepted, which is 25.23%. These missiles were mostly aimed at civilian infrastructure, while only 15 targets out of 83 were military. The3M22Zircon hypersonic cruise missile was used only 6 times. It was intercepted 2 times, and 4 times it hit civilian objects.

Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukraine's IRIS-T had taken two missiles down with a single interceptor and neutralized 45 threats in half a year.
