The first confirmation has emerged that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are using RapidRanger air defense systems. This comes roughly a year after their delivery was announced in March 2025.
The system appeared in a video released by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense during a demonstration for representatives of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense. The video also showcased weapons used by mobile fire units and anti-aircraft drones.

The RapidRanger appears just as it was previously reported—mounted on the chassis of the Spanish URO VAMTAC military vehicle. A module containing the launcher and its own optical sighting system, capable of automatically tracking targets, is mounted on top
The system is armed with LMM missiles (also known as Martlet) from Thales, which have a range of over six km and a 3-kg warhead. In the standard variant, the system is guided by a laser beam following the "laser track" principle. However, there are plans for missile variants with alternative guidance systems, including semi-active laser guidance.
It is currently unknown how many systems are to be transferred to Ukraine. The total number of missiles is expected to reach several thousand, with the latest increase adding another thousand. They are also employed by Ukraine in other platforms, including the Martlet MANPADS and the Stormer air defense system.

Technology transfer for the production of both LMMs, launchers, and command posts for the RapidRanger system was also promised to Ukraine. Details are scarce, but as with the delivery of the systems themselves, this information may simply not be disclosed.
